Principal’s Message

Well, we have made it to June, so I think that we will make it to the end!  Students and staff are showing signs of a busy and demanding year, but are managing to get through final projects and activities.
We are really proud of the accomplishments of Mackenzie students, but there are too many to mention here.  So please accept my sincere congratulations on an excellent year, and best wishes for success in all summative activities.

Grade 9 EQAO Math Exam

The province wide EQAO Math Exam is fast approaching.  Mrs. Morton’s Grade 9 students will be preparing for the exam from Friday, June 6th - Friday, June 13th, and writing the exam in Math class on Monday, June 16th and Tuesday, June 17th.
Since the EQAO test covers the same content that was taught throughout the course, preparing for the EQAO test is similar to preparing for the exam.
In preparation for the EQAO Math Exam an EQAO MATH CLUB will run from: Monday, June 9th, 2008 to Friday, June 13th, 2008 at lunch in room B3. All students are welcome, and encouraged to attend.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Morton at 613-584-3361 ext. 803 or at mortonk@fc.renfrew.edu.on.ca.

Next year the French Department is organizing a trip to France and Belgium for 10 days during the March Break 2009 for students in grades 10, 11 and 12.
We will spend 3 days in Paris visiting many famous monuments (Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Versailles, etc.).  We will go to the Normandy beaches (Juno) and Vimy Ridge.  We will travel to Belgium, to Ypres, Bruges (known as the Venice of the North) and Brussels with hopefully a visit to the European Parliament.  I intend to make this trip a complete French immersion experience which will be of invaluable benefits to the students.
Mme. Richardson will have an information meeting for the students on Wednesday, June 4th at the beginning of lunch in Room 179.  For more information, please contact Mme Richardson at 613-584-3361 ext. 179.
